Fifth Aramco facility receives Global Lighthouse Network status

News|Davos, Switzerland|

North Ghawar Oil Producing Complex has become Aramco’s fifth facility to be added to the World Economic Forum Global Lighthouse Network.

Only industrial sites that successfully deploy Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies at scale are admitted to the group, which awards and showcases leaders in technology-driven industrial transformation.

The inclusion of North Ghawar in the prestigious network comes ahead of the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme of ‘Collaboration for the Intelligent Age’.

Such collaboration is reflected in the Global Lighthouse Network which provides a platform for technology leaders to share their insights to drive further advances.
North Ghawar and the other latest additions to the network all provide a blueprint for the accelerated deployment of AI solutions to boost productivity, enhance problem-solving and foster innovation.

North Ghawar follows four other Aramco facilities into the network, namely; Uthmaniyah Gas Plant, Khurais oil complex, Abqaiq Plants, and Yanbu Refinery.
While there are some 189 facilities in the network worldwide, Aramco is the only global energy company to be represented by more than three facilities.
