Students from across Poland gathered in Gdańsk as Aramco Europe and the Fahrenheit Union of Universities (FarU) marked World Energy Day this month by hosting a conference focusing on the global energy sector.

Aramco Fuels Poland CEO Jaroslaw Kobus, encouraged participants to apply their own skills to addressing some of the big challenges arising from the energy, mobility and materials transitions.
He said: “This will require innovation across multiple scientific disciplines, many of which are represented by the degree and post-graduate programs you are currently studying towards.
“It is this multi-source, multi-speed and multi-dimensional approach to advancing the energy transition that we value and it is why we are invested in supporting events such as this, which facilitate the conversation among our brightest young minds around how to progress a truly inclusive, pragmatic and realistic transition.”
Aramco Europe Process Engineering Supervisor John Henn also addressed the conference and delivered a presentation on ‘Igniting Action from Insight’ which highlighted some of the company’s research and development activity in Europe, including ongoing work developing a new generation of synthetic fuels.
The Release the Energy conference represents the latest collaboration with FarU (which includes the Universities of Gdańsk) as part of Aramco Europe’s citizenship program which is committed to advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through various initiatives targeting primary, secondary and third-level education.
