Aramco and Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team reveal new livery for upcoming F1 season

News|Dhahran, Saudi Arabia|

Aramco and Aston Martin Aramco have unveiled the new AMR26 car livery ahead of a defining season for Formula 1, as the sport introduces new fuel and engine technologies.

The AMR26 livery was revealed at a special event held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, known as Ithra, located near Aramco’s Dhahran headquarters in Saudi Arabia.

Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso and teammate Lance Stroll were on hand, as they prepare for their fourth consecutive season as the team’s driver pairing and with the most experienced line-up on the grid, with a combined 614 Formula One race starts.

It was a proud moment for Aramco and Aston Martin Aramco as the introduction of hybrid engines and alternative fuel formulations bookmarked a significant technical step change in motorsport.

New partnerships

The new F1 season also sees Honda join the partnership, bringing a hybrid powertrain with a 50:50 electric-to-combustion split. Aramco’s Valvoline Global Operations (VGO) will provide cutting-edge  lubricants while Aramco will supply FIA-compliant 100% Sustainable Fuels , in line with the sport’s technical regulations, incorporating alternative components intended to reduce lifecycle emissions compared with conventional fuels. These fuels are designed to be compatible with existing engines and infrastructure under defined operating conditions, subject to applicable specifications.

The Adrian Newey-designed AMR26 made its on-track debut in Barcelona at the end of January. The team continues testing preparations in Bahrain across the next two weeks, ahead of the opening round of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship in Melbourne.

Aramco and Aston Martin Aramco have worked closely together since 2022, with performance and progress at the heart of the partnership. Together, they aim to explore technologies and materials that may contribute to improved efficiency and reduced emissions in specific use cases, while inspiring the next generation of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) leaders.

Ithra was chosen for the launch because of its catalyzing impact developing talent, expanding human potential and empowering creativity. The Center supports creators in moving from idea to output through funding, hands-on programs, mentorship, and access to audiences. Ithra is also home to Saudi Arabia’s STEM Racing HQ, a global educational program which aims to raise awareness of STEM and F1 technologies among students around the world.

Mobility innovation

Beyond motorsport, Aramco operates a global network of world leading R&D centers covering three continents. At Aramco headquarters in Dhahran, scientists and engineers are testing alternative fuel formulation to assess their performance characteristics and potential impact on lifecycle emissions, while in Detroit, the company is developing light-duty and heavy-duty fuels as part of Aramco’s wider work improving the efficiency of current and future engines. And in the Paris R&D office, we focus on developing fuel technologies intended to improve efficiency and assess potential reductions in fuel consumption and emissions under laboratory and controlled conditions.

As the 2026 F1 season approaches, Aramco is committed to researching and developing mobility-related technologies across motorsport and broader transportation, while inspiring and engaging the next generation of innovators.
