Aramco Europe showcases new energies at world's biggest hydrogen show

News|Hamburg, Germany|
As part of its broader strategy to explore lower-carbon solutions, Aramco Europe showcased progress across Aramco’s developing portfolio in new energies at Hydrogen Technology World Expo in Hamburg this week.

The annual gathering brings together representatives from the global hydrogen value chain to discuss developments and innovations in hydrogen production.

Aramco Europe head of engineering and project management, Mohamed Elreheem, delivered a presentation on opportunities and challenges across the European lower carbon ammonia market.

He said: “New energies can play an important part in an inclusive Energy Transition. Europe in particular holds huge potential for the hydrogen and ammonia economy with more than 30 European countries so far adopting hydrogen strategies.”

Efforts to develop a lower-carbon, ammonia-inclusive energy economy in Europe advanced this year with the completion of a pipeline safety study in May, compiled by the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology, in which Aramco Europe and other energy and industrial companies participated.

Hydrogen Technology World Expo runs from October 21-23, 2025 at Hamburg Messe, Germany.
