Through Aramco Europe’s strategic membership with SPRINT Robotics, Aramco participated in the 10th-anniversary edition of the SPRINT Robotics World Conference for Inspection & Maintenance (I&M) Robotics. At the event, Aramco proudly secured 2nd place in the prestigious SPRINT Robotics Innovation Awards. The recognition was awarded in the category of “New Innovative Technology in Inspection, Maintenance, or Cleaning,” celebrating pioneering work in industrial robotics.
Aramco’s award-winning innovation, the Ignition Drone, was developed through a collaborative effort between the Inspection Department (ID) and the Offshore Drilling Department (ODD). Selected from a highly competitive pool of global technology developers, the drone was recognized for its groundbreaking design and transformative impact on drilling safety and operational efficiency. This achievement underscores Aramco’s strategic commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies that enhance safety standards and support sustainable operations.
The awards ceremony, held on October 22,2025 was a highlight of the conference, which brought together a global audience of robotics professionals, technology providers, and industry leaders. As a strategic member of SPRINT Robotics, Aramco also contributed to the conference by presenting its vision for drone technology in oil and gas operations under the theme: “Drones - Shaping the Future of Inspection and Surveillance in Oil & Gas Operations.”
The SPRINT Robotics Awards aim to promote industry-wide adoption of field-proven robotics solutions, encourage scaling beyond prototypes, and reward innovation and collaboration.
