Aramco Europe joined industry stakeholders at ONS 2026 in in Stavanger, Norway, to explore innovative technologies with the potential to advance subsea inspection, asset integrity management and process engineering.
The biennial conference, held in Norway’s energy capital, attracted more than 70,000 attendees from across the global energy sector. The event provided a platform for industry leaders to discuss emerging technologies, future project opportunities, and international collaboration across the evolving energy landscape.

As part of the event, Aramco participated in the Insight Sessions organized in partnership with Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP). The sessions brought together global energy companies, developers, research organizations and technology providers to address key industry challenges and identify opportunities for innovation and business collaboration.
John Henn, Aramco Europe Process Engineering Supervisor, highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange and international cooperation.
“As the energy industry continues to evolve, innovation remains central to improving performance, enhancing reliability, and extending the life of critical infrastructure. At ONS, Aramco Europe highlighted a range of operational challenges where collaboration with suppliers, technology developers, and research organizations can help accelerate the deployment of next-generation solutions.”
The conference also heard from Aramco Europe Engineering Specialist Mohamed El Naggar, who contributed to discussions on subsea maintenance and repair, inspection and monitoring technologies and digital integrity management systems.
He said: “Drawing on experience across offshore and onshore assets, the company is seeking innovative approaches that can improve efficiency and digital decision-making while supporting safe and efficient operations. The objective is to gain deeper insights into asset condition, reduce intervention requirements, and make more informed maintenance decisions through integrated data and predictive analytics.”
Aramco Europe highlighted the growing role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in the energy sector, specifically across AI-enabled asset integrity management, corrosion prediction, robotics, autonomous offshore operations, smart sensing, and digital platforms that can transform how operators monitor and manage complex assets.
Attendees also gained valuable insights into technology needs associated with flow assurance, production optimization, and fluid processing. These challenges include managing increasingly complex production streams, improving separation performance, advancing digital modelling capabilities, and identifying novel approaches that can enhance operational outcomes. By engaging with technology providers and industry partners, Aramco Europe aims to identify scalable solutions that can be applied across diverse operating environments.
Beyond technology discussions, the Aramco Europe team provided an overview of upcoming project opportunities and its approach to supplier management. With a substantial pipeline of projects planned across upstream, downstream, infrastructure, marine, and energy-related developments, Aramco continues to explore opportunities for collaboration with qualified organizations capable of delivering innovative technologies, specialized expertise, and world-class solutions that support future growth and operational excellence.
