Aramco Beach Run is back again this October to raise funds for Juliana Children's Hospital

The Aramco Beach Run is back for the fourth time on October 1 at Scheveningen Beach, in The Hague. Once again, this fundraising race aims to bring the local community together to get active and support a local cause – in the city where Aramco's European headquarters are located.

With four different running distances and two walks available, it's an event that is suitable for everyone, from families with toddlers to seniors and professional runners.

Anyone of any ability or fitness level can take part in this challenge. Jog the 1K family run with your little ones, push yourself further in the 5K or 10K, or really go the extra distance with the 15K run. And those not into running can instead sign up for the 10K or 15K walk.

This year, Aramco Europe is proud to support the wonderful work of Juliana Children's Hospital – a leading pediatric medical center in The Hague dedicated to caring for children from across the Netherlands. Its child-centered ethos, innovative design and highly-trained staff make it one of the best hospitals in the country looking after children in need of specialist medical treatment.

“We are delighted to support our local community in The Hague. Through our continued support for Juliana Children's Hospital, our charity partner since the inaugural Aramco Beach Run in 2017, we aim to make a positive impact for children and families in the region,” said Ahmed Alkhunaini, President & CEO of Aramco Europe.

“It's the first Aramco Beach Run since the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope the local community will give their full support by joining us and donating to make this fundraising event our biggest and most successful yet.”

All money raised from the event will go directly to Juliana Children's Hospital. This year's funds will be used to upgrade the hospital's playrooms, providing a fun and safe space for patients and families on their road to recovery.

Willemijn van Heel, pediatrician and medical manager of the Juliana Children's Hospital, said: “The Aramco Beach Run is a fantastic community race for everyone, including families with young children. Public support will help us to provide high quality pediatric care in an environment that's been specially designed to give children the best possible hospital experience.

“That's why playrooms are an important part of our child-friendly facilities. Alongside other distractions, such as colorful murals and fun games, these amenities aim to help children feel calm and welcome whenever they step into our hospital.”

On the day, participants can look forward to a run or walk along the vibrant Scheveningen promenade, and across the scenic sand dunes and beaches for the 10K and 15K races. A medal and further entertainment await each participant at the finish line on the boulevard.

About Aramco:

A child is not a small adult. The care providers at the Juliana Children's Hospital (JKZ) know this all too well. At the JKZ, every child receives the care that suits them best. Day and night, and with full attention. The doctors, nurses and other healthcare specialists do everything they can to reduce stress, anxiety and pain. By for example using positive language and with many different distraction techniques. As a result, a child forgets for a moment that it is sick.

At the JKZ you will find all medical specialties under one roof. There is also a special emergency unit for children. Our specialists often work together. With each other, but also with the specialists from the overarching Haga Hospital. The doctor who treats your child is always a pediatrician or a doctor who specializes in pediatrics. The nurses are always specialized pediatric nurses. You can be sure that your child is in good hands..
