To mark the International Day of Education, Aramco Europe is celebrating our community programs aimed at supporting teachers and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
We are not only committed to develop mentoring, learning and training programs for young people, but also for teachers, to better equip them with the skills to successfully engage with students – especially in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
This year the International Day of Education 2026 is held under the theme ‘The power of youth in co-creating education. This global celebration highlights how young people are shaping the future of learning during a period of rapid technological change.
Our STEM-focused partners target every stage of learning, striving to keep schoolchildren engaged across these core disciplines while also offering teachers continuous professional development (CPD), to retain and develop their vital skills in the classroom.
Through our collaboration with STEM Learning in the UK, more than 120 teachers have accessed CPD programs, with the potential to positively impact learning outcomes for more than 12,500 students.
Aramco Europe’s collaboration with the University of Manchester is also rooted in offering teachers help where they need it most. By equipping educators with inclusive approaches, leadership skills and practical tools, these initiatives help them to create learning environments in which pupils, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, can build confidence, develop their voice and engage with STEM beyond the classroom.
In Italy, we have worked with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano on its “SE4South” program to support hands-on training for teachers alongside the upgrade of school laboratories. This initiative supports educators at different stages, with some 140 teachers directly engaged in different activities tailored to regional needs.
These initiatives combine technical knowledge with creativity, communication and critical thinking, helping educators and institutions connect STEM subjects to real-world challenges and future opportunities.
As International Day of Education highlights the importance of inclusive, high-quality learning for all, Aramco Europe’s education partnerships reflect a long-term commitment to empowering educators and learners as catalysts for progress. By supporting teacher development, strengthening learning environments and encouraging collaboration between schools, universities and communities, Aramco Europe is helping to support skills development across Europe.

Providing support
Working directly with teachers is a central focus of Aramco Europe’s education partnerships, helping them strengthen subject knowledge, build confidence and translate learning into classroom practice. This is especially important in science education, to ensure teachers are supported and remain in the profession to continue inspiring young people.Through our collaboration with STEM Learning in the UK, more than 120 teachers have accessed CPD programs, with the potential to positively impact learning outcomes for more than 12,500 students.

Inspiring curiosity
Beyond the classroom, Aramco Europe also supports initiatives that raise awareness of STEM topics and spark curiosity in young minds. Our partnership with the Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk demonstrates how innovative education formats can engage learners of all ages. From ‘science picnics’ and public debates to immersive virtual reality learning tools and student-led conferences, the collaboration has reached thousands of participants across Poland and generated significant public engagement. These initiatives combine technical knowledge with creativity, communication and critical thinking, helping educators and institutions connect STEM subjects to real-world challenges and future opportunities.
